Running: 10 July 2010 - Midnight Madness [pt 1]

It is the morning of Midnight Madness 2010.  In just about 12 hours Dad and I will be headed home.  Hopefully, he will have a medal from either the 5k or 10k (perhaps both).  I will have sweat-soaked clothes, tired legs, a t-shirt, and memories.  Memories that I will share with you all when I get back tonight.  I am hoping for good weather (cool and dry), and from the looks of things, I should not be disappointed.
My wife, Debbie (follower #2) surprised me yesterday with a tiny Sansa Clip 4GB MP3 player.  It also has an FM radio and a voice recorder.  This will allow me to record my thoughts after a run so I can get them up on the blog.  I've loaded it with all my favorite radio presets and about 450 songs (with room to spare).  That oughta keep me going for a while.  Thanks, Deb!!

Dad and I will be heading out to Ames around 4pm.  He has some fliers he wants to put out prior to checking in.  The 5k starts at 7:30 and the 10k starts at 8:30.  So, if I run like I did Thursday, I should be done around 9:30 tonight.  Then it's pasta feed time, awards, and home.  I'll try to post part 2 tonight if not first thing tomorrow morning.

Back to the homework and water...and lunch in a bit.
