Running: 29 April 2011 - A New Committment

Ok, let me first begin by aplogizing.  I have been remiss....no, delinquent....actually, lazy.  There.  I admitted to the "L" word.  I had every intention of doing this running thing for a whole year, with the goal of running the 2011 Dam-to-Dam on 4 June 2011.  I still plan on running D2D and will be registering tonight.  That said, I haven't been TOTALLY lazy.  Read on...

Over the course of the past few months, I have at least been walking.  It's much easier to walk in crappy weather than to run in it (I believe).  And I finished my Bachelors Degree.  I received my diploma yesterday, and hope to do the shake and take thing in August in Chicago.  So that page of my life is complete:  BS in Information Technology (Summa Cum Laude).  Yeah, I'm smiling...but back to the running.  This IS a running blog.

I ran once last week and twice this week.  I know that isn't a lot, but I do believe some wised old guy once said,
"The journey of a thousand miles begins beneath one's feet."
lao-tzu
(Lao-tzu, Chinese philosopher (604 BC - 531 BC)).

So the way I look at it, a 20K probably begins in very much the same way.  I will say, it DOES feel rather good to have started back up again, but I'm a skosh worried about getting enough running in before the 4th of June to not kill myself in my 1st 20K.

Hang with me...I'm back!
