I went downstairs and checked my blood sugar - 56. I paused a moment to contemplate this. I am out of Shaklee Performance and wondered what I could put in my system that would raise the blood sugar without making me sick. Fortunately, I still had some OJ left over from last weekend's Pump-n-Run. I grabbed an 8 oz. carton from the fridge and read it contained 29g of carbs. Close enough to the 25g of Performance I usually drink in a situation like this. I prayed it wouldn't come back to haunt me while I ran. (It didn't).
After stretching, I wandered out onto the street. It was still rather dark and I wasn't sure where to run. I stretched a bit more and decided to do a comfy 5k. So off I went on pretty much the same 5k route I run in town. My pace was good. Probably a little too
I ran today's 5k in 23:27. Checked the pulse twice: 172 about halfway through and 140 at the end. Blood sugar: 116 - perfect. OJ is OK.
OK, so maybe not so short and sweet, sorry. Gotta run tomorrow (Sunday). Michelle and Angie are kinda nagging me to. Oh well, add another run toward my addiction...
