Today I joined the Madison County Milers for my morning run. My friend Michelle kinda wrangled me into joining them. It was actually rather nice. In the beginning, I really thought our pace was slow, but as we ran on, I came to realize part of my struggles with my other runs was that I had been going too fast. It was also very nice to run with other people. The moon doesn't say much and seems to run or walk in concert with my pace. Here, it was different.
I had low blood sugar (49) again this morning prior to running and so I mixed some Shaklee Performance to drink. I had about 50g of carbs from that and when donerunning, my blood sugar was 77. I finished the rest of the Performance and had a Fibre One bar for breakfast.
Oh yeah, today's run was 4 miles just like Coach instructed. That is the furthest I have ever ran. I went non-stop (although without my running mates I would have) and finished today at 38:02. That's about a 9:30 pace. Good enough for me. Pulse was 148 two minutes after finishing. Not a bad morning run. Humid though. Good pace. Thanks Michelle and the Madison County Milers (Dan Staples and Angie Lauer too).
See you guys next week!

ReplyDelete4 to 6 miles is muscle memory. Just relax and enjoy your run tomorrow. The worst thing about running by yourself is letting your head get to you. Don't let that happen.
