Running: 16 July 2010 - FRIDAY!!!

What a gorgeous morning to run.  Mostly clear skies, 76 and not overly humid.  Woke again with low blood sugar (59).  So I mixed up some Shaklee Performance and downed about 10 ounces.  Although I had gotten up a bit early, I dragged my feet until I was a bit late - so I decided to just do 5k this morning.  But I would do it with a faster pace than before.  I stretched, got my tunes goin' and set off.

I noticed as I ran that I felt a bit faster than I had in the past. Not terribly, but enough to notice.  I had planned on doing more speed work today, but Brennan had taken my truck to the high school and that was part of the reason I did just the 5k.  Looking back, it IS a mile to the high school and would have been a good way to knock out the first part of Coach's speed drills.  Oh well....hindsight.

I did notice as I ran, my butt muscles hurt a bit and my calves hurt a bit afterward.  Must be leftovers from yesterday.  It'll all come together soon enough.  I really need to find a scale and weigh myself.  I'm also curious what my hemaglobin A1C is.  I'll find out next month when I get my 4 month screening at the hospital. 

I finished today's 5k in 25:25 - had a bit of walking in there {:-)  Pulse right after was 174.
